This is Kiara. She enjoyed reading as a child much more than writing. She would read absolutely anything from Greek Mythology to informational books about the Hemlock plant. She was always looking for new things to learn for herself so she could take that information and tell her family. She doesn't read even an inch close to as much as she should anymore but she wishes she read an inch over that limit. She is very picky with books now. She really only likes one type of genre and that's drama. She also enjoys biographies and autobiographies on historical and political figures. She prefers to gain information rather than read fictional stories unless they're fictional stories that are supposed to take place during an event such as the book, The Rock and The River which is one of her favorites. She does in fact frequent writing. That is one of her favorite things to do. It has helped her a lot with communication issues and problems within herself. She writes to herself in a journal, she writes poetry occasionally, creates her own stories, and really enjoys writing comparative and persuasive essays. She started writing in her spare time when she was in fifth grade. She took a great interest in writing horror stories or drama stories. In middle school, that's when she was introduced to poetry and really found that it helped her through things she was going through, she also very much enjoyed reading poetry. Now in high school, she has taken joy in writing comparative, and persuasive essays, and she likes to analyze pieces she has read. In the world of jobs and college, her mind keeps trailing back to the idea of being a journalist. Rather than talking, she finds it is easier to write her opinion. She often likes to think she is a strong writer, yet she knows there is always room for improvement in every aspect of her writing capabilities. She would very much like to broaden her reading and writing skills to their full potential |
